Seattle-based Emmy winner Scott Schaefer ("Bill Nye the Science Guy," PBS) is Producing two 2-minute segments for the ESPN show "Urban Anglers" and is seeking two fisherpersons in the Seattle area to video over the next 2-3 weeks.

Ideal participants will be anglers who walk/bus/drive/bike to a local pier/lake/river and fish. Preferably an urban setting like West Seattle, Lake Washington or a pier downtown.

There is no pay, but you may become famous. I also promise to make you look good and charming and funny and cool smile

I will shoot the segments myself, so it'd be just you and me (and the fish you catch of course).

More info on my production credits can be found at http://www.scottso.net.

Feel free to contact me for more details.

Thanks,
Scott Schaefer

The dock that i go to was on the news the other night (on fire). I hope it is still fishable.

lets see... lake union sturgeon episode, the mount lake cut cormorant fishing episode, ... and angle lake! .....

the west seattle jig throwing can be quite fun. I only average about 1 chinook for every 5 hours of jig throwing but I saw a couple of 30 lb plus chinooks caught off the dock (merlinos dock) last summer. The real fun is getting them into the crab net to bring them up. come on out folks. I cant be the only white guy again this year, I am getting a minority complex

Hey Chappy,
Can't place your face. Nice to see other wharf rats from Seacrest on the web site. I'm one of the brown boys with a pony tail. No, I'm not Frank and I'm not Joseph and Amigo (other"gotta smoke?" Frank) is no longer with us, he got run over and not by a reindeer. Still early to do the huck'n'duck with websters. Email me if you want. You too, Scott. No big thing on the minority issue, we're all brothers on the dock " 'cause we too po' " to have a boat. .

AD pose-
lets definately go huck some jigs sometime. Did you see merlino's dock on fire the other night on the news? Sounds like seacrest may be the only spot now. I was joking about the minority complex thing. i spent a few years in central america and got very use to being the only "guerro" around. i love the crowd down there(except the beer bottle breakers and the shaker kickers but they seem to go to merlinos more than seacrest) its nice to see the same faces when you go down there and get to know everyone. I ususlly fish merlino's but i do go to seacrest as well. many of my friends live in west seattle and its so easy to stop in and cast for a couple of hours. and the proximity to the alki tavern does not hurt either. I am having dinner out there tonight and was wondering when the first fish start to show up there? I usually dont start to fish there until summer but i might give it a try earlier this year. i am to po for a bay boat as well. shoot me an email when you go down there, ill buy you a beer at the alki afterwards

A friend of mine said that he saw a giant fish roll in the duwamish last week near the last kind of tailout you see at low tide near allentown. does anyone know if there is any kind of spring or early summer run on the green of salmon? or would this fish probably have been a late or early steelhead?

You guys ever rent a boat at Seacrest? Kind of expensive and they don't open very early so I've never tried.
I'm down for a round beer Maybe you guys can help me with my goal of getting some fishgutz on the water taxi this summer, heh.

Scottie,
Were you ever employed by a clothing company in the early 80's? If so, how goes it? I know of someone who goes to S.C.C. fishes Angle Lake in between classes!!! Hey, heres a little tip of what clothing store it was way back when. What ever happened to Chip, if he wasnt rolling over in a volkswagen, he would do it in the hydro. Oops I gave it away!!! cool

I never worked for any clothing company in the 80s...sorry. Must be another Scott Schaefer (or Shafer/Schaeffer/Schafer/etc.).

My claim to fame in the late 70s and early 80s was as a phone salesman for Fishing & Hunting News. Yep, I was "Duke Brooks" and I tried to "keep it coming to ya..."

Thank god I'm not doing that anymore. Now I'm just a media whore!
